Terms of use

These terms cover your use of Ay Caramba! at ay-caramba.app. They're short because the service is simple. By creating a link or opening one you agree to them.
What the service is
You write a piece of news, choose how it's revealed, and get a link. Whoever opens the link sees the news and, with their permission, can record their reaction on their own device and send it back to you. The service is free to use. We may change or withdraw features at any time.
Your content
- You keep ownership of everything you write or upload. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people who open your link, which is all we need to run the service. That permission ends when the reveal expires or is deleted.
- You must have the right to share what you upload. Don't upload photos of other people without their agreement, and don't share news that isn't yours to share.
- Only send links to people you know. Reveals are not a channel for marketing, mass messaging or contacting strangers.
- Nothing illegal, abusive, threatening, sexual involving minors, or intended to deceive or distress. We can remove any reveal, without notice, if we think it breaks these terms, and we may report unlawful content to the authorities.
Reactions
The reaction recording belongs to the person who made it. It never passes through us. It carries a small Ay Caramba! mark in the corner, added on their device as it records. Whether they send it, and to whom, is entirely their choice. If you receive one, treat it as theirs: don't publish it or pass it on without asking.
Expiry
Links stop working 90 days after they are created and the content is deleted. If you want something gone sooner, email hello@ay-caramba.app with the link.
Gift links
Gift suggestions link to third-party retailers through affiliate networks. We may earn a commission on purchases. We don't sell the products, take payment or handle delivery; the retailer's own terms apply, and any complaint about an order goes to them.
Our responsibility
We provide the service as it is, without promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Cameras, browsers and phones vary, and some combinations won't record. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for loss arising from your use of the service or from anything anyone does with a link or a reaction. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Copyright and trade marks
The Ay Caramba! name, logo and site design are ours. The example stories on the site are ours too. You may not copy the site or present it as your own.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer where you live.
